Danish Technological Institute (DTI) is the largest technological service provider in Denmark and one of the biggest in Northern Europe. Founded over 110 years ago, the Institute’s core business lies in providing research and development, testing, certification, information, training and consultancy services to industry, the public sector, the social partners and civil society. We currently employ 1000+ specialists and we help more than 10.000 customers a year – representing 65 different countries. The Institute’s expertise is distributed in seven divisions covering business and society; building and construction; meat research; energy and climate; materials; production; and environmental technology. These together contain 39 specialized competence centres with 14 accredited laboratories providing testing and certification services. The Institute is also recognized as Denmark’s leading training and educational institution with a focus on industry in Denmark and abroad. DTI bridges the gap between research and market implementation to ensure that new knowledge and technology quickly can be converted into value for customers in the form of new or improved products, materials, processes, methods and organizational structures.
The Building and Construction division represents Denmark’s largest concentration of knowledge regarding construction materials, and contributes to ensuring that the building materials used in the Danish construction industry are of high quality and properly and efficiently applied, produced and maintained. The Building and Construction division is involved in standardization activities and development of methods for monitoring, documentation and certification of building products.
The Building and Environment Centre at the Danish Technological Institute has profound knowledge on the building sector and circular economy in the sector, expertise in quality schemes for construction and demolition waste and aspects related to both technical and environmental quality, LCA-expertise, assessment and documentation of the environmental properties of construction materials, environmentally harmful substances. As an RTO we are eager to serve the Danish enterprises developing their businesses, and we aim to contribute to solving the societal climate challenge through green transition. In addition, we are program operator for EPD Denmark.
The Concrete Centre works with innovation, development, testing, consulting and field investigation within the concrete area. For the past 30 years, the Concrete Center has been essential for concrete development in Denmark. The Concrete Center have led several material development projects that have affected the basis of current legislation in the country. The Concrete Center also participates actively in standardization work both nationally and in Europe and is constantly working to create the technical basis for adjusting the standards, so that concrete production and execution can continue to develop in a more sustainable direction.
